Free YouTube Keyword Generator

Keywords viewers actually type— straight from YouTube search.

Type a topic. We read YouTube's own search suggestions for it — the top ones, the questions people ask, and a long tail from A to Z — so you can title your video in the words your audience already uses.

How to pick YouTube keywords

Use what viewers type — then check who wins it

Every keyword here is a real YouTube search suggestion: something people type often enough for YouTube to offer it. YouTube doesn't publish search volumes, so the useful questions are whether the phrase matches your video exactly, and whether small channels can win it.

01

Specific beats big

A broad keyword is searched more but answered by thousands of videos from large channels. The longer suggestions — a place, a budget, an audience — have fewer searchers who want exactly your video.

Weak

travel

Better

budget travel japan 2 weeks

02

Questions are ready-made video topics

Suggestions that start with how, why or what are questions viewers want answered. Answer one plainly in the title and in the first line of the video.

Weak

Japan travel vlog #4

Better

How much does 2 weeks in Japan cost? (real budget)

03

Check the outliers before you commit

Before filming, run the keyword through the Outlier Finder. If videos from small channels beat their usual views on it, there's room for you; if only big channels rank, pick a longer variant.

Weak

Picking the keyword with the most suggestions

Better

Picking the one where small channels broke out

Rewrites are illustrative examples, not measured results.

Before you use a keyword

  • Does it describe this video exactly — not just the niche?
  • Is it in the title in natural words, near the start?
  • Is it said out loud in the first 30 seconds (YouTube reads captions)?
  • Did small channels beat their usual views on it (Outlier Finder)?
FAQ

Questions

Where do these keywords come from?+

From YouTube's search autocomplete — the suggestions it shows as you type. We ask for your keyword, your keyword followed by each letter, and common question words in front of it.

Why are there no search volumes?+

YouTube doesn't publish search volume. Tools that show exact numbers estimate them from other sources. The order of YouTube's suggestions is a rough signal of what's searched more.

Do tags still matter?+

Very little — YouTube says tags mainly help with misspellings. The title, description and what you say in the video matter far more. Use “Copy as tags” only for variants and misspellings.

Can I search in other languages?+

Yes. Pick the language next to the search box to get the suggestions viewers in that language see.

Is it free?+

Yes, no sign-up, with an hourly limit per person.
